So today was the 256 6 handed KO ftops. 750k guaranteed started with 5k in chips.

This is a tournament that has somewhat haunted me its one that I should do well in on paper but have had two disappointing finishes in the past including the worst tournament I had ever played and I was out in 30 minutes.

It looked like it was gonna be yet another disappointing just two orbits in when my bluff got picked off by a horribleee call imo. I raised the button with KQ and the bb called. I have 4700 he had 4200. Flop comes 662 he checks I bet 120 he raises to 300 I reraise to 800 thinking if he has over cards he's folding if he has 10's or higher he's 4 betting and if he has a pair 77-99 he could call but I could get him off the hand. The turn brings a 2 and I bet 1k into the 1700 pot. He takes 20 seconds and calls at this point I'm pretty sure he has an over pair, but I figure I could get him off a 77-JJ on the river. An 8 comes and I shove he times out and flips 77!!!!! I don't know what he had me on but unless I have complete air he's losing. a "sick read" on his part, aka a donkey call, and now I'm down to 500 with blinds at 15 30.

I work my stack up to 800 when I push with 66 and get called by AJ. Double to 1500. the next hand, I decide to ride the rush and make a big shove with QQ after a standard raise. I thought that the guy would be too tempted by the bounty to fold, and figured I was riding the rush, and I was right he called with A10 and I flop a Q. Just like that up to 3k again.

I lose a few pots down to 2k when I call a min raise with 66. Flop comes Q96! I check call the flop and check raise all in on the turn he calls with AA and blanks and I'm up to 4.1k.

After getting ti up to 5.8k I'm down to 3k when this hand happens. I call a raise with 109 to see what i can flop. Flop comes A810. Check check turn brings a 7 str8 draw for me. He bets 500 and I shove thinkin he has JJ-KK. HE insta calls with 88! fuck if he just has an A I have more outs, but now I'm dead to a J or 6. River 666666!! Up to 6.2k

I get moved and have an extremelyyyy aggressive big stack to my lef.t In 5 hands I've seen, he's 4 bet pre and 3 bet pre so I know he can be really loose. I raise in early position with AQ and he three bets me to 1500. I shove for 6k and he calls and flips AK obv. HE flops a K and i'm out.

Mixed feeling about he tournament mostly what could have been if the idiot didnt' call me down with 77 but what can you do. Two more ftops on the schedule. the 216 HA tomorrow that I bubbled last time I played it, and the 216 turbo 6 handed Tuesday. Then its VEGASSSSSSSSSSS! Thanks for reading.

Last night I played the first of at least 4 ftops events. It was event one a 200 buy in with a 1 million guarantee. Started it with 5k in chips. My starting table was pretty weak and I was able to build a good stack before losing to a guy who had been playing at me all night. Here's the update.

I won a few pots early. One with AK where i flopped top pair and check raised a guy. Then had AA bust 66 for my first ko to get up to 7675 at the hour break. Got it up to 9295 when I lost a few pots, mainly to this one guy dukeblows333 I think. He was playing at me the whole nite, raising my blinds, calling my preflop raises and trying to out play me on the flop. I knew if I got a big hand I'd be able to take alot of chips from him. Once I had 99 and flopped top set, I bet reallly small praying he'd raise but he folded ughhhhh.

Then with an 8k stack, I raise with 99 in the sb. The big stack is in my bb and he 3 bets I take 2 seconds and snap push he snap calls! He flips AK and we're off to the races. Flop comes 754 two hearts. Turn 3 of hearts he has A of hearts terribleeee card! River J of clubs bam up to 16k.

Built the stack up to 19k then had it knocked down to about 13k when this hand happened. i had KK in my bb, and as per usual, duke puts in just above a min raise to 1375 blinds at 300 600. Against ANY other player at the table, I 3 bet or go all in ,but against him, I call knowing he'll play at me. The flop comes 1034 one club. I check, again against everyone else i bet, and he checks. Lame I was hoping to check raise there. The turn comes a 6 of clubs two clubs on board. I bet 2k he thinks 2 seconds and ships it in for my even stack! I think half a second and call all in he flips A3 of clubs. No A, 3, or club and I have 26k. River...3 of hearts.

Its so frustrating because i had the guy freakin pegged I KNEWWWW he was gonna play at me thats why I slowpalyed the heck out of the hand. I coulda raised preflop and taken it down there, but I wanted to get maximum value out of the hand. Oh well. LOTTT of tournaments in the near future. Here's a breakdown

Sunday: 256 6 handed ko
Monday: 216 HA
Tuesday: turbo 6 handed

So I've been grinding the FTOPS satelittes and so far I got my seat into 3 events. I'm playing the 216 regular event tomorrow with a 1.5 mil guaranteed prize pool. Then Saturday I'm playing the bronze iron man freeroll for a shot at 50k. Sunday I got the 256 6 handed ko, a tourney that has haunted me in the past because I've had several disappointing showings in a tournament that should suit me well. Last year, I logged my biggest cash ever when I took 4th in the 100 buck 6 handed for 2700 bucks. Since then, I've logged several 4 figure scores. Ironically, many of them have been tantalizing close, but haven't surpassed the 2700 mark. A 4th in the turbo hundo for 2640. A 4th in the turbo fiddy for 2200. A 3rd in the 5 buck rebuy for 1500. The list goes on. Last night ,I thought I would finally break through the barrier, but alas, I ended up again just short, finishing 3rd in the turbo fiddy for 2555.

As is necessary in this tourney, I logged a quick double up I think it was AK vs AJ preflop. I lost some more back to my starting stack, before chipping up to about 3200 when a hugeee hand played out. I was dealt KK in the bb. The utg+2 shoves all in blinds at 150 300 for 3k. Two positions later a guys same stack goes all in. I snap call, and the bb goes all in! 12k in the pot. The hands: A8,99, and of course AA. But the flop comes a sick KQ9, and I hold to take a big pot down. From there, I log a couple big pots, and just like that I'm chip leader with 88 to go. Just a couple weeks ago, I got 8th in the turbo 50, with a very similar story. Huge stack that dwindled as the money bubble hit. I got caught a few times, and ended up getting to the money, the top 45, in about 20th place. After getting down to about 13 bbs, I double with KK vs 88. We get down to two tables, and I make a couple bad call offs with 33 and A7 and suddenly, I'm 12th wit 13 left.

However, I double with AK to KQ, and win a few more pots. Next thing I know I'm chip leader at the final table. IT was quite a roller coaster to the top 5. I would double a guy up with a loose call, then ko someone AJ vs 88. Then I double a guy up, then o a guy with 55 vs AJ. I end up getting to be 3rd with 3 left. I have 200k, other guy has 220k, and leader had 425k. With blinds at 10k 20k I need to make a move soon. Dealt A8 in the bb, I shove when the big stack limps in the SB. He thinks for a few seconds and calls and shows....Q8 of clubs?!? For half his stack? If I Can hold I'm the chip leader 3 handed. As you can guess, it didn't Flop comes QKQ and I'm out in 3rd for 2555.

First got 5.5k. I was pretty disgusted after, but today i'm pretty stoked about it. I have 1.3k in the bankroll, with a 216 seat in the turbo 6 handed ftops in a few weeks. With a 2000 dollar check comin in the mail, I have some vegas money to work wit! Probably gonna bring 600-700 to gamble with. Going to vegas the weekend of Aug. 15. Meeting up with my crew again for a sick reunion I'm really excited. Will post updates on that and any other cashes as they come. thanks for reading.

Bet on Phil Ivey. Its pretty simple. The man is for sure the greatest poker player alive and arguably of all time this summer has cemented his legacy. Two bracelets and now he's gotten a big monkey off his back and finally final tabled the main event after getting 10th in 2003 and 20th in 2005. So here is a full recap of all of the bets platt and I made last week.

Going into the main event, I was up 70 bucks, mainly because of the 100 buck bonus we got for any of our overall players winning a bracelet. Mr. Ivey won 2, hence 200 bucks. Other then that, platt was kicking my ass in the last longers before that. We made 5 last longers on the main event. In all matchups, the guy I picked is hte first one: Mike Matusow vs Phil Hellmuth- Hellmuth wins. Scotty Nguyen vs Erick Lindgren: Nguyen wins. Ylon Swartz vs Ivan Demidov: Swartz wins. And lastly, Ivey vs Lunkin: Ivey wins. So after the last longers, I'm up 4-1 and up 120 more bucks. 190 overall

Here's where the bonuses come in. We have a 50 buck bonus for the top 100 players. Ivey is the only one eligible for it, and gets top 100. 50 more for me. 240 overall. After that, we have a 100 buck bonus for making the final table. After starting the day at 4th with 27 to go, Ivedy was knocked down to 17th with 19 to go. But he was able to ride the short stack an dstay aggressive, and he is now sitting 8th in cihps with 9 to go in the November 9! 100 bucks more to me. 340 overall

Lastly, after needing 200k from my players going into the main event, Ivey has given me that and more, winning me the overall bet, and 40 more bucks. Up 380.

Now, its a waiting game. In November, the final 9 come back, and if ivey ships the main event, it will give me a cool 400 more bucks! 300 for the winner bonus, and 100 for the 3rd bracelet in the overall bets. 4 months and counting!

Got both of my checks from FTP today one for 500 other for 300. So rent and alittle spending money! I won 500 on PS last nite and requested another small check form them just 200 there. WSOP updated Platt has two horses left Hellmuth and Lunkin I have one in Ivey so we'll see how that goes. I can't update much here so I've added the twitter feature since I usually post my daily updates there. You can check them out there at tayke2.
