World Cup Breakdown Part 2

Today, we have Group B, which consists of Argentina, Greece, Nigeria, and South Korea. Argentina figures to breeze through here with the 1 spot, but who will rise up and get 2nd?

Argentina
: Two words for you. Lionel Messi. If you don't know who this guy is, you will know him very shortly. He has separated himself as pound for pound the best soccer player in the world. If you want proof, this might do it for you. However, he has yet to duplicate his great club success on the international level, due to what many think is the Coach Mardona not using him to his best abilities. Well he will have 3 warm up games to figure it out, as Argentina stands to breeze through this group.

Greece: The question bout the rest of the group is who will be able to bring back recent surprise successes they had. In 2004, Greece shocked everyone by winning Euro 2004. However, Greece has not been much of a factor since, and I don't think that will change here. The key game is the opener against South Korea.

Nigeria
: Nigeria also shocked the world when they took Silver at the 2008 Summer Olympic games, and I think they will once again pull a bit of a shocker and advance to the 2nd round. As I have said and will say many times, when its tight, go with the home field. And Nigeria will be on its home continent. Also, of the 3 other teams, they have had the most recent success.

South Korea: After the 20002 World Cup, soccer continued to grow in South Korea, and this is quite a talented team. I would say it that they are likely the favorites to come out of here with the 2 seed. But I'm just not sure they will be able to adjust to the new environment. Keep an eye out on the South Korea Greece game to kick off group B. The loser will likely be out.

My Prediction: 1. Argentina 2. Nigeria

Be sure to check out the blog tomorrow as I will be giving an extensiveeeeeee breakdown of the United States team and what it will take for them to have an extended stay in South Africa. Thanks for reading.
