Fantasy Football Matcuhps

tayke2 On 10:23 AM

Ok 4-7 in my Family league and currently 7th of 10 with 2 games left. Got my mom today whos in 1st place. So far I had two guys on Thnaksgiving, Calvin Johnson and Nick Folk, while she had Kevin Smith. I'm up 14-10 right now, not bad but not that great either.

Me(4-7)

Tom Brady at NO- My MVP, hoping for a huge game in what should be a shootout. This matchup will be even more significant when you see my mom's team.

Wes Welker at NO- Ripped it last week, and Darren Sharper should have most his focus on covering Moss deep so Welker should get plenty of looks in the slot.

Chris Chambers at SD- Has had a ton of huge catches in recent weeks and hoping for another 40 plus yard catch today.

Calvin Johnson vs GB- Got me a short TD on Thursday. He's clearly hurt but gutting it out.

LaDainian Tomlinson vs KC- Has been solid in recent weeks getting at least 1 TD in 3 of 4. And shouldn't change against the chiefs.

Beanie Wells at Ten- Despite playing well last week, Beanie was my 3rd choice here. Cedric Benson is once again inactive, making it 2 points in 3 weeks he's gotten me since I traded for him. And I had Snelling for the Falcons, but Turner became active this morning, rendering him pretty powerless. Having said that, I'm happy with beanie in this spot against an inconsistent D.

Kellen Winslow at ATL- Has established a good repour with Josh Freeman, and hope he can find the endzone toay.

Nick Folk vs Oak- Got me 6 on Thursday. Its aight, but the 4 points he missed on hte 49 yarder woulda helped.

New York vs Car- Already gotten me a pick 6 today and hoping for more against a very mistake prone offense in carolina.

Mom(8-3)

Drew Brees vs NE- Yea thin the Monday night game is going to decide this one? I can only hope that Brady beats Brees by a few points at most realistically.

Marques Colston vs NE- Same with Welker hoping that Welker dominates in catches and outscores him by a few points.

Anquan Boldin at Ten- This start takes a big hit with Warner out today. Leinart will be handing the ball off alot today.

Robert Meachem vs NE- Had a huge game last week. HOping he pulls a Devery Henderson and doesn't get any looks this week.

Ray Rice vs Pit- Probably as good a Run D as I could ask for, thought Polamulu would certainly make me more comfortable.

Kevin Smith vs GB- Got 10 points which is pretty good I must say.

Vernon Davis vs Jac- Davis scares me. He only gets about 5 catches a game, but usually 2 of them are for TDs.

Dan Carpenter at Buf- Should get alot of action today against Buffalo sadly.

New Orleans vs NE- The Saints are her only D, so her hand was pretty forced here against an Offense that SHOULD be able to put up at least 3-4 TD's.

In ATVN, I lost what would have been a huge win when Schaub cooled off in the 2nd half against the Titans. If Brown doesn't shanked the FG, I mite have pulled out a close win. As it is, I'm 3-8, and likely out of the playoffs, though anything can happen. I'm playing Jeremy this week, who has about has sick a 5-6 team as you will find.

Me(3-8)

Philip Rivers vs KC- It was a toss up between him or Schaub against the Colts. Schuab already has a TD, so hoping i made the right call here.

Nate Burleson at STL- Ugh a frustrating start. Usually goes for 2 or 20.

Devin Hester at Min- With his speed, he HAS to break a big play soon. He usually has 5 catches for 40 yards because he gets alot of screens. Hope that changes soon.

Chad Ochocinco vs Cle- With this matchup, he has to get at least one TD.

DeAngelo Williams at NYJ- Hoping he goes off in this matchup. Stewart might steal some key yards but hoping for the best.

Thomas Jones vs Car- Hmm just realized that these two are playing each other. Lets go Jones!

Jason Witten vs Oak- Finally broke a few big catches to get me 13 points after consistently getting me 6-10 all year.

Mason Crosby at Det- Anytime your kicker gets you double digits, thats a huge plus for your team.

Pittsburgh at Bal- Hoping for a defensive struggle tonite as is what is usually the case in this matchup.

Jeremy(5-6)

Aaron Rodgers at Det- Went off as predicted this guy averages 30 a week thats tough to beat.

Marques Colston vs NE- IF he goes off it kills me if he gets shut down I love it. Hoping for the latter.

Reggie Wayne at Hou- Peyton always finds a way to beat me. Chalk up a TD guaranteed for Wayne.

Randy Moss at NO- God Jeremy's team is so sick. This is the best reciever combination I have ever seen. Props my man.

Ray Rice vs Pit- Ahh another guy I'm doubly facing. Come on Steelers D!!

Ryan Grant at Det- Was held to just 11 points which for a top back is great for me.

Jeremy Shockey vs NE- IT kills me that I'm playing against so many Saints this week. Conflict of interest much?!

Nate Kaeding vs KC- This guys is a beast. A lock from 40 and under and a leg that will make 55 yarders consitently.

Philadelphia vs Was- Right now the Skins are driving on them. Keep it up fellas.

Ok those are my matchups. Got an uphill battle in both, but I feel like I'm gonna pull one upset at least. Wish me luck! Thanks for reading.

NFL Weekly Picks

tayke2 On 10:49 PM

With the early games tomorrow, I'm getting my picks in early. Went 12-4 last week, putting me at 44-13 so far this season since I started in the middle of the year. Didn't see a couple upsets coming last week, namely the Raiders and the Titans. I mixed in a couple upsets this week, so lets get started.

1. Green Bay at Detroit- The Lions offense was on fire, but that will not be the case tomorrow, as it looks like both Stafford and Megatron won't be playing. The Pack were gonna win anyways, but not its a sure thing. GB takes it big 35-17.

2. Oakland at Dallas- Which Raider team will show up? The one that can't beat Kansas City, or the one that beats playoff teams. Same token for Dallas. Which one will show up. I wanna pull the trigger on an upset here, but the Boys will pull it out in a surprisingly close game 27-21.

3. New York Giants at Denver- Two teams that started off on fire and have since cooled off massively, this could be a playoff busting game. This mainly comes down to one thing. The G men are for real and will make the playoffs. Denver won't G men take this big one on the road 27-17.

4. Tampa Bay at Atlanta- Another matchup where I really want to pull the trigger on an upset. The Falcons are sliding quickly, while the Bucs have looked good in recent weeks, minus the blowout last week against the Saints. But at home, the Falcons will win this game they have to and should win. Falcons win 30-20.

5. Miami at Buffalo- The Dolphins proved they could do something last week I didn't think they could. Win without Ronnie Brown and the wildcat. And the Bills simply aren't that good. The Dolphins get another win, though in the AFC, the playoffs might be out of the question. Miami wins 24-10.

6. Cleveland at Cincy- There's nothing like a matchup with the Lions to make a bad team look good. And there's nothing like a loss to the Raiders to make a good team look bad. But all things aside, the Bengals are far and away the better team here, and they will get a win here. Bengals take it 31-13.

7. Seattle at St. Louis- Ugh it sucks these two awful teams have to play twice. But the Rams somehow managed to get worse as they are now starting Kyle Boller. Someone has to win, and its the Hawks. They win by accident 21-13.

8. Carolina at New York Jets- The Panthers missed a great opportunity last week to vault into the playoff race. And they really needed that win with their remaining schedule. I think Carolina steps up their game, and pulls what some would consider an upset. Carolina wins 27-21.

9. Washington at Philly- The Eagles tend to stumble in these kind of games, but they can't afford it, especially if the G men get a big win tomorrow. They will hopefully bring their A game, and put away this bad team. Eagles win 37-14.

10. Indianapolis at Houston- The Texans needed that win over the Titans, and with a loss to the Colts, they will fall to 500. Ok, its time to take a big shot here. I have never doubted the Colts, but I think this is the week. The Texans are in a near must win, at home, and with motivation after the tough loss to the Titans. The Texans make the Saints the only undefeated team in the NFL, 27-24.

11. Kansas City at San Diego- The Chargers are looking very good, and the Chiefs are looking very bad. The Chargers take this one with ease 31-17.

12. Jacksonville at San Francisco- The Jags offense is playing very well, and the 49ers have cooled off after starting the year on fire. Maurice Jones Drew is the man, and will not let this team lose. Jags win 28-20.

13. Arizona at Tennessee- Two teams that are on fire meet in Nashville. The Cards have won 3 in a row, and the Titans have won 4 in a row. And they will need all they can to make a statement here. But with a healthy Warner, the Cards should notch a big road win here. Cards win 31-23.

14. Chicago at Minnesota- Another case of two teams going in opposite directions. The Vikes have the Saints and the NFC Championship on their, while the Bears are wondering if Jay Cutler was the guy they were looking for. Vikes win big 34-10.

15. Pittsburgh at Baltimore- Its hard to imagine that a defensive player can make such a big difference, but that is what troy Polamulu is to this team. When he's in, they are Superbowl Contenders. When he is out, they are a team struggling to make the playoffs. In what is a huge game for 2nd place in the division, I think the ravens get fired up and take out the Steelers and make a big statement. 21-17.

16. New England at New Orleans- Wow the games don't get much bigger then this. A potential super bowl preview. I like the Saints here, for two words: Drew Brees. Lets face it, despite putting up amazing numbers and showing great leadership, people still dont give Brees that much respect. When asked who the great QBs in the league are, most will say Manning, Brady, maybe even Favre, before Brees. He will change that on Monday, and win this shootout, 38-35.

Ok those are my picks. What do you gusy think? Are both undefeateds going down? Neither? What do you guys think>

BCS Top 10 Throwdown

tayke2 On 5:47 PM

Not much shake up in the top 10 last week except for the upset that I called with LSU. Wasn't surprised they have 2 "quality" losses and 0 quality wins. Also called Pitt losing, but they didn't...because they didn't play. My bad lol. Ok here we go lets see what we got this week.

1. Florida- Don't feel like commenting on another cupcake win for Florida.
Up next: vs Florida State- Amazing their toughest non conference game by far, the Gators win easily on Tim Tebow's senior nite, then get ready for Bama. Gators roll 41-17.

2. Alabama- Same thing as Florida. Don't deserve much credit for scheduling Chattanooga and winning big. Whoop de do.
Up next: at Auburn- Same thing as Florida. One more warm up before Florida. Crimson Tide take it 35-17.

3. Texas- Longhorns again look very impressive against Kansas. Texas has their championship shot locked up if they can win two more games.
Up next: at Texas A&M-Despite having a worse record then Nebraska, this will be the toughest game left for Texas. The 12th man will be on fire, and I actually feel like A&M will hang for a while, but they wont have enough. Horns hook em 31-21.

4. TCU- This team represents the best shot a small school will have at a title game. Sadly, a team in Austin will get in the way. this team will play, and play well, in the BCS this year.
Up next: vs New Mexico- The question isn't will they go undefeated. The question is: The Sugar Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl? TCU closes out a perfect season with a 38-14 win.

5. Cincy- Tony Pike is back which is great news for Bearcat fans. Illinois will serve as a nice warmup for what could be one of the best games of the year next week if Pitt can beat WVU.
Up next: Illinois- Will be used to measure how Pike is feeling. He needs to be healthy for Pitt. Bearcats jump out early then take their foot off the gas. They win 31-17.

6. Boise State- You know what I think of the Broncos. Win win win.
Up next: Nevada. Its a shame they have such a poor schedule. These guys are really good. Boise routs Nevada 52-24.

7. Georgia Tech- They've had a week off to prepare for their instate rivalry game. The Jackets are a team no one wants to play right now.
Up next: Were this not an instate rivalry game, I would call trap with Clemson waiting in the wings for the ACC Title. But these guys will be focused, espeically after the bye week. Jackets handle business 27-13.

8. Oregon- Huge win agaisnt Arizona but they are far from out of the woods. Who would have thought at the beginning of the year, especially after the Boise loss, that this in state rivalry game would be deciding the Pac-10.
Up next: vs Oregon St. Were this in Corvalis, I would call an upset. But at home, the crowd will not let the Ducks slip up here. The Ducks punch their ticket to Pasadena in a shootout 41-34.

9. Pittsburgh- Pitt barely held on to beat the Fighting Irish, and have managed to stay in the top 10 after the bye. The Panthers likely have Cincy on their minds, but they must think about West Virginia right now.
Up next: at West Virginia- If you look at Pitts schedule, they biggest wins are against Notre Dame and South Florida. Not too impressive. And with the Orange Bowl on the line against Cincy, Pitt is likely to slip up at WVU this week, and I think they will. Pitt loses in an upset 28-24.

10. Ohio State- Jesus how are the Buckeyes already done. Most teams have at least 2 if not 3 games left. Congrats to the Buckeyes who earned thier Big 10 title and their Rose Bowl bid.

Those are my thoughts. What are yours? Any other upsets besides Pitt? Leave comments please I love to get feedback. Thanks for reading.

Where do I pick up my ring?

tayke2 On 12:18 PM

So I touted my matchup with Shannon as my Superbowl, and my players obviously got the message, because they played lights out in what is all but assured to be a blowout victory in my biggest game of the year. I am up by 48 points with just Shannon's kicker Rob Bironas left. So the question is now how much will I win by. HAVING SAID THAT, I am still anything but a lock for the playoffs. With my record at 4-7, I am now 7th place, but alot of important matchups tonite. Namely two that affect me. Gloria, who I am tied with at 3-7 right now, is up by 9 points on my dad, who had Texans stud Andre Johnson. My grandpa, who is not out of the running despite a 2-7-1 record, is up by 14 on my uncle, who has Texans QB Matt Schaub. Now if the Titans D is half as bad as it was against the Pats a few weeks ago, then these are sure wines. But nothin is sure in the NFL. I'm a big Texans fan tonight. Were i get to get both of those to go my way, the bottom 4 would be as follows.

7. Me- 4-7
8. Shannon- 3-7-1
9. Gloria- 3-8
10. Grandpa-2-8-1.

This would be huge, because my last two weeks are interesting. Next week, I play my mom, who is 1st right now, and the following week I play Gloria in what could be a playoff deciding game. Also of note, Grandpa and Shannon play each other next week, so the loser is likely out while the winner is likely in. Still alot to be decided, but it feels good right now to be on top.....of the bottom 4 lol. A quick shout out to a few of my players. As per usual, Brady and Welker tore it up. But the two surprises this week were Calvin "Megatron" Johnson, who dropped 25 big ones, and Chris “Beanie” Wells, a free agent pick up this week who stepped up huge with 15 points with Benson out and my other rbs out for the year.

Ok in my ATVN league, I didn’t get a chance to post it up yesterday but I'm playing Celo and right now down by 14 points. I have Matt Schaub left and he has Andre Johnson left. The good news there is that for the most part, AJ's fate is in Schaubs hands. The bad news is, if they break off a huge 60 yard TD or something, then AJ outscores Schaub by a few points. Basically, I will need a big game from Schaub to take it down. And a win would be huge. Despite only improving to 4-7 with a win, it would put me just a game back, as all of the middle teams lost this week. With a win, the standings would be as follows.

4. Jeremy- 5-6
5. Steve- 5-6
6. Me- 4-7
7. Celo- 4-7.

With a loss, I am all but out with just 3 weeks left. With a win, I got a shot. Lets go SCHAUBBBBBB! Thanks for reading. BCS Top 10 throwdown coming later.

My Fantasy Superbowl

tayke2 On 9:22 AM

Today is probably my biggest matchup of the year. After getting a clutch win last week to put me to 3-7 and tied for 8th in my family league, I'm playing my cousin Shannon who is 3-6-1. If I can beat her, I'll be in soul possession of 7th, and my outlook for the playoffs. If I lose, I still have a shot, but I'll rather get 7th cause I dont want to paly my mom in the playoffs. 1. She has the best team, and 2. She cares so much I'd hate to have to root against her lol. Ok so here is my matchup,

Me(3-7)

Tom Brady vs NYJ- As per usual, I will be living and dying with Brady. He actually had his worst game of the year against these guys earlier, ONLY getting me about 15 points. But at home, I like his chances.

Calvin Johnson vs Cle- Johnson got alot of loos last week, so I'm hoping he gets more looks this week against a poor defense.

Wes Welker vs NYJ- Should go off with Moss having a tough corner matchup.

Devery Henderson at TB- Had a good game for me last week, and he has the best matchup of my 3 options here.

LaDainian Tomlinson at Den- He has gone off 2 of last 3 weeks, and Denver is struggling against the run right now.

Beanie Wells at STL- Ugh. Of course before my big week, Ronnie Brown, Westbrook, and Benson all go down. I swooped in and picked up Wells, and hoping he gets more carries then Hightower, as Shannon has him.

Kellen Winslow vs NO- Hoping his re-pore with Freeman increases this week.

Nick Folk vs Was- Should get alot of looks if this Offense can get back on track.

Cleveland at Det- This was a pick up D against a bad offense.

Shannon(3-6-1)

Kyle Orton vs SD- Mite not play if he doesn't that would be huge but even if he does as long as Marshall can be contained he shouldn't get much.

Roddy White at NYG- he'll get one big play today, just hope its not a TD.

Reggie Wayne at Bal- About as good a D as I can ask against this offensive machine.

Jeremy Maclin at Chi- Hoping he gets lost amongst all the weapons.

Tim Hightower at Stl- Hoping Wells takes most of his carries.

Matt Forte vs Phi- He's struggled alot this year, but he proved last week he can be their best receiver.

Dallas Clark at Bal- Ugh...bad memories of playing this guy this season.

Rob Bironas at Hou- COuld go off in what will be a shootout.

Green Bay vs SF- Ugh struggling offense here could be bad.

I gotta run so I can't post my ATVN league, but I'm playing Celo, and D Will has already gotten me 15 points. Hoping for a win. As always, I'll be updating on my twitter, though mostly for the 1 o clock games, as I'm going to a bar for the am games. Thanks for reading guys.

NFL Weekly Picks

tayke2 On 11:29 AM

Its that time of week again. For anyone who needs any help with their picks, I provide my 2 cents here. I had my "worst" week of the year last week going 11-4, putting me at 32-9 on the season. For the 3 rd straight week, all of my upset picks came through. The Panthers beat the Falcons and the Pack beat the Boys. Ok so here we go.

1. Miami at Carolina- This is a toss up here. Both are pretty good football teams with mediocre records. However, two things tip the scales to Carolina imo. 1. The recent placing of Ronnie Brown on the IR. He was arguably the MVP of their team the wildcat now will be up to Pat White and I think without Brown, Ricky gets contained. and 2. Carolina is at home. The Panthers win a close one here 24-20.

2. Washington at Dallas- The Skins looked very impressive last week, and the Boys looked god awful. However, Dallas is a far superior team, and they will realize that in the tough NFC East, you have to get these easy wins, especially against this weak divisional team. The boys are back in town and win by a couple TD's 31-17.

3. Cleveland at Detroit- Seriously? These two have to play each other? The fact that Cleveland has won a game this year baffles me. They might have the worst offense every created. Ever. The Lions, on the other hand, showed promise last week hanging tough with the Vikes. And at home, this is a synch. Lions win a struggle 13-3.

4. San Francisco at Green Bay- The Pack bounced back in a big way last week with a big win over the Boys. It seems like teams are figuring out that if you can contain Frank Gore and Vernon Davis, you can shut this team down. The Pack will do that, and win this one 27-14.

5. Kansas City at Pittsburgh- This should be a pretty boring game. The Chiefs lost their top offensive weapon in Dwayne Bowe to a drug suspension, and against the Pitt D, a shut out is possible. However the absence of Polamulu means that the Chiefs will get a moral victory and find the endzone but thats about it. Pitt rolls 24-7.

6. Seattle at Minnesota- Not much to say here. A superbowl contender vs a bottom feeder. Vikes roll big time 31-14.

7. Atlanta at New York Giants- Wow a big toss up here. Two teams that started off hot and have cooled down recently. I'm going with the Giants here cause they are at home and are coming off a bye week and have had plenty of time to right the ship and get focused. G-men get back on track and win 27-17.

8. New Orleans at Tampa Bay- This game will be closer then people think. The saints proved last week they can look less then impressive against bad teams, and the bucs are a new team with Josh Freeman at the helm. I think this one stays close but the Saints pull away in the 4th and win 28-17.

9. Buffalo at Jacksonville- Had Dick Jauron been allowed to stay on for the rest of the year, I woulda gone with the Bills here in a "lets win one for coach game!" But as it is right now, this is a bad team that is only worse by all their injuries. Maurice Jones Drew runs all over them and the Jags win big 34-14.

10. Indy at Baltimore- Ugh I wanna pull the trigger here and go with an upset so bad! But despite the shutout last week, the Ravens D isn't what it used to be. And the Colts are firing on all cylinders. Colts win this one 28-13.

11. Arizona at St Louis- The Cards will win this because they want to turn it into a shootout and the Rams do not have the weapons for that kind of a game. Card take another divisional win with a 27-10 win.

12. San Diego at Denver- By record, I'm going with the upset here. But I don't know many people outside of Denver who really think the Broncos will win here. They need to figure out whats wrong before they pull one of the biggest choke jobs in NFL history in missing the playoffs after starting 6-0. Chargers win this one 27-21.

13. Cincy at Oakland- A mismatch here on all levels. The raiders are terrible and the Bengals are more then for real after sweeping the super bowl champs. The one bright spot for the raiders is possibly no Cedric Benson, and the strength of their D is passing. But still not much of a shot here Bengals win 20-7.

14. New York Jets at New England- These are two very different teams then the ones that met in New Jersey when the Jets pulled out a win earlier this year. Sanchez thought he was invincible back then, when that has been proven wrong time and time again recently. And the Pats, despite the call at the end of the Colts game, are clicking on all cylinders on Offense. I think Belichick runs up the score to make a point against Rex Ryan. Pats win big 38-17.

15. Philly at Chicago- Man I have no upsets this week. I want to gamble here, but the Bears Offense is so bad they will make Philly's D look good, which is saying alot considering how easily the Chargers moved the bal for 3 qtrs against them last week. Eagles win here and stay in the playoff hunt 27-13.

16. Houston at Tennessee- For the first time since I started my picks, I'm picking against the Titans. Fact is, they've played 3 sub par teams. The Texans are no longer a sub par team. And Matt Schuab is licking his chops after seeing film of the Pats putting up 49 on the Titans in one half a few weeks ago. Texans win a high scoring game 42-30.

Those are my picks. What do you guys think? I couldn't find any upsets really. Could you? Also 6th place right now out of 17 in the sit n go comp but we got a long way to go so I like my chances. Thanks for reading guys.

Full Tilt Sit n Go Competition

tayke2 On 6:10 PM

Ok so I use a popular website called Pocketfives.com where a bunch of online poker players use a forum to discuss a Hodge Podge of topics. Alot of times, players will develop certain competitions to fuel fires and what not and I'm joining a week long competition that will start tonite and end next week. Here are the details.

So the competition is for 90 person sit n gos under 10 bucks. there are 4 varieties. A 6 buck turbo, 4 buck regular, 3 buck turbo, and 2 buck regular. Now for the sake of getting the most points, the 6 bucks will be all I play. There is a cap of 100 on the week which sounds like alot, but its not really considering I can run 4 at a time with no problem. So I will post updates on my twitter @tayke2, but you can also follow the competition on pocketfives here, or for easier access you cna check out the leader board here.

Pretty sure it will pay top 2 on the board, so thats what I'm aiming for. Probably gonna need 10-15 fts with 3-5 wins to take it down. Wish me luck! NFL picks coming tomorrow thanks for reading.

BCS Top 10 Throwdown

tayke2 On 2:39 PM

Its that time of week again for the BCS top 10 throwdown. USC is not on the list for the first time in a while, and USC is one more slip away from being unranked. Oh well it was a great run Trojans we'll be back on top next year!

1. Florida- Business as usual against South Carolina on Saturday. Was closer then I expected going into the but then the Gators hit their stride and pulled away.
Up next: vs. Florida International- As per usual, Florida has another tough non conference opponent here. The Gators might actually get challenged enough to the point that they only win by 42! Gators roll in another cupcake game 55-10.

2. Alabama- Look very impressive against a fairly tough Mississippi State team last week. The rest of their games are mute points as they are already focusing on the Gators in December.
Up next: vs Chattanoga. Seriously! This is why the SEC sucks because every team plays shit teams in non conference play. I'll give Bama credit for playing Va Tech earlier this year, but come on this is ridiculous. Grow some Saben. Bama rolls 49-14.

3. Texas- Longhorns hitting their full stride and can virtually punch their ticket to Los Angeles looking very impressive and like a worthy adversary for the UF-Bama winner.
Up next: vs Kansas- This matchup looked like a great one that could decide the best team in the big 12....about 5 weeks ago. After starting off 5-0, Kansas has lost 5 straight and looked terrible. Longhorns dominate the Jayhawks 45-13 here.

4. TCU- Got over their last hurdle against Utah and once again looked great doing it. They have proven they are worthy of a Sugar bowl birth, and will deservedly be the next team in line for a title shot if Texas manages to blow their chances.
Up next: TCU destroys Wyoming 55-10.

5. Cincinnati- Looked very vulnerable against a good but not great West Virginia team. Cincinnati just has Illinois in the way before the biggest game of the year against #8 Pitt in two weeks.
up next: vs Illinois- Potentially a trap game but Illinois is no good. Bearcats roll and prepare for Pitt with a 38-14 scrimmage.

6. Boise State- Same story as before. No need to comment they looks great and they feel alot more comfortable with USC losing as it makes one less team to take a much deserved BCS at large bid from them.
Up next: at Utah State- Boise dominates 52-7.

7. Georgia Tech- Not many teams have looked better in recent weeks then the Yellow Jackets who have locked up a date with likely Clemson for a shot at the Orange Bowl.
Up next: vs Georgia- Anything can happen in a rivalry game, but the Bulldogs really aren't that good and the Yellow Jackets are on fire. Ga Tech stings Georgia 31-17.

8. LSU- Once again showing how overrated they are with a 24-16 struggle against lowly Louisiana Tech where they trailed at halftime.
Up next: at Mississippi- Ole Miss is just as bad as LSU is imo, but they are at home and they have pride to play for. The winner of this game will get a legit bowl: Gator, Peach, something like that. And they will likely lose. Here, I'm going with the upset. Ole Miss knocks off LSU 27-21.

9. Pittsburgh- Pitt barely held on to beat the Fighting Irish, and have managed to crack into the top 10.

10. Ohio State- The Buckeyes have looked very impressive in the past couple weeks, and Terelle Prior has shown why he is so hyped. Imo, Pryor has never lived up to his expectations, but its not his fault. He's been touted as the next Vince Young when reality is he's no where near his level. But with every game, he gets better, and next year might be his Heisman year.
Up next: at Michigan- The rivalry has lost some lust with Ohio state's domination recently, but it will still be a good game. The Buckeyes will come out and dominate the struggling Wolverines in all phases, and win big 28-13.

Those are my thoughts got 2 top 10 teams going down. What do you guys think? Comment with any thoughts or questions and I’ll be sure to get right back to you. Thanks for reading.

Fantasy Footbal Recap

Ok so in a rare sighting this year I pulled out a win!!! Most importantly, I got one where I needed it the most, in my Family League! The win puts me at 3-7, but only 9th in my league as both my aunt and cousin got wins as well. This sets up the superbowl of fantasy for me next week. My cousin is 3-6-1 and holding down 8th right now while I’m on her heels at 3-7. 8 make the playoffs, so we very well could be playing an elimination game with just three weeks of the regular season left. So just a few quick thoughts about my matchups.

Family league shout outs.
Tom Brady/Wes Welker- As per usual, these two came through for me when I needed it the most. I needed 39 points going into last nights game, and Brady nearly got it himself with 38. Welkers 12 put me over the top to take a much needed win.

Calvin Johnson/Kellen Winslow/Devery Henderson- Three guys who at least for one week stepped their game up and got me the points I needed for a win. All three got me 10-14 points which was much needed to pull this one out.

Cedric Benson- Its just my luck that I trade for a franchise Rb and he pulls his hip in the 2nd Qtr and gets me a whopping 2 points. Oh well. Rest it up Cedric I need you for the home stretch.

Asuante Samuel- Probably the reason I won yesterday. This all pro corner held stud Vicent Jackson to just 1 catch for 10 yards, and helped me dodge a biggggg bullet there.

Lastly, I'm trying to make one more move at the trade deadline. Trying to pick up one more wide out to give me a stud wideout list. Probably gonna have to trade Ronnie Brown which hurts, but Ricky is taking too many of his carries. I'm prepared to ride Benson and LT to the end.

For ATVN, there’s not much to say. I got whooped and badly as I expected. Matchups are almost as important in fantasy football as talent on your team, and when you have both, its tough to beat. Yesterday, Dave had Peyton vs NE, Chris Johnson vs Buf, and Peterson vs Det. AP actually was the worst of the 3 with JUST 30 points lol.

Ok so thats my recap. Next week, tune in for the biggest game of my season, as I fight for 8th in the Family league! Also, my BCS top 10 throwdown is coming up. Still reeling from the Trojans beat down. Oh well. Thanks for reading.

NFL Fantasy Matchups

tayke2 On 7:02 PM

Sorry for not posting my matchups last week I was going through my internet ban because of the WSOP at the time. Ok well to no ones real surprise I went 0-2 yet again. This puts me at 2-7 in my Family league and 3-6 in my ATVN league. Despite my best efforts to miss the playoffs, I'm only 1 game out of 7th in my family league, as my cousin, grandpa, and aunt are all either 3-6 or 2-6-1. So I decided I need to make a move. I traded Steve Smith for Cedric Benson. My main week point is my inconsistent RBs. Ronnie brown for the most part as been solid but in recent weeks he's gotten small points. Westbrook plays one of every 3 games, and LT isn't doing much. Benson is a stud and I had to make a move for him so I did. Hopefully he helps me out. I could really use a win this week, but considering I've lost 5 in a row and my opponent has won 5 in a row, I don't like my chances much.

Me (2-7)

Tom Brady at Ind- They always seem to play each other, and it usually is a good offensive shootout, especially between the QB's because both want to prove they are better.

Calvin Johnson at Min- Need him to get 100% asap. Against Minnesota he should get alot of looks hopefully but its all about his knee right now.

Wes Welker at Ind- I was offered Welker for Benson but the Welker Brady Combo is all I have going for me. Hoping this week he proves to me why I didn't trade him.

Devery Henderson at Stl- I have a pure toss up here between Henderson and Braylon Edwards against the Jags. I'm gonna go with Henderson, as Braylon has let me down week after week. I'll loss this coin flip no matter what lol so I'm resigned to that.

Ronnie Brown vs TB- Ok Brown has a great matchup here and I really need him to go off. I'm worried Ricky will steal more TD's from him, but I don't have a choice. Step it up Ronnie!

Cedric Benson at Pit- Another toss up here as westbrook is gonna be playing and Benson is playing a tough D, but I didn't trade for Benson for him to sit on the bench. Hoping for big things from the new face on my team.

Kellen Winslow at Mia- Got a TD from Josh Freeman last week so hoping that these two have a good connection and Winslow can get back on track cause he's had several weeks where he has disappeared.

Nick Folk at GB- He's gotten multiple FGs the past couple weeks and this week should be more of the same.

New York Jets vs Jac- The Jags offense outside of Jones Drew isn't all that impressive and Garrard is turnover prone so hoping for a TD here.

Shannon(6-3)

Aaron Rodgers vs Dal- Rodgers passes, and he passes alot. But I like this matchup because the O line allows a ton of sacks and Demarcus Ware is a sack machine. If he can be held to 20 points I'll be happy.

Vincent Jackson vs Phi- I like the matchup as he will be against All Pro Asuante Samuel all day. Hoping he can contain this big play threat.

Hines Ward vs Cin- A catching machine, he can also disappear at times, and the strength of the Bengals D is their secondary.

Mike Sims-Walker at NYJ- He can get 10 catches for 120 or 1 catch for 10 yards. We'll c what he ends up doing.

Steven Jackson vs NO- I like this matchup purely because the Saints will score 28 1st quarter points and the rams will pass alot take their starters out early. At least I'm hoping. Otherwise he'll get 15-25.

Marshawn Lynch at Ten- This could turn very ironic. Lynch was chillin on my bench and started a couple poor games for me all year. I drop him, Shannon picks him up, and he's in her lineup. Will he go for 20 the week after I drop him. Probably lol. We'll c.

Jeremy Shockey at Stl- Shockey hasn't been looked at in the past few weeks, but I'm still expecting 5 catches for 80 yards from him and maybe a TD.

David Akers at SD- He'll get a couple FGs he's seen alot of the field recently.

Philadelphia at SD- Good matchup against a high powered offense hoping they can just get a few points in INT's and sacks.

Ok in ATVN I'm 3-6 and the playoffs are going to be tough to make as the 4th team right now is 5-4 so I need to basically go 3-1 in my next 4. The first matchup is against the 8-1 1st place team. Last night was a good night for me though. I had Devin Hester vs Vernon Davis, and I won the matchup 8.3 to 3.1. Now normally I wouldn't be so happy about outscoring the Tight End but Davis has been killin it recently so to only get 3 points from him was great to me.

Me(3-6)

Philip Rivers vs Phi- Not a great matchup but Schaub has a bye and I gotta go with Rivers hoping to get 20-25 from him and I'll be happy.

Nate Burleson at Ari- I see the Hawks falling behind early and passing alot so hoping Burleson can find his way into the endzone again this week.

Devin Hester vs Sf- Got me 8 points last night and has been a solid #3 wideout since I picked him up.

Chad Ochocinco at Pit- Again not the best matchup but can't bench him ever at this point.

DeAngelo Williams vs Atl- D will has been a beast recently and should have another good game here. Just hoping Stewart doesn't take some of his TD looks.

Thomas Jones vs Jac- Has played very well recently and is getting almost all the carries for the Jets. Should find his way to the endzone here I think.

Jason Witten at GB- Witten hasn't been getting as many looks recently but he's still gonna get me 8-10 at least every week.

David Akers at SD- Overlap. Oh well gonna get me some points for sure. Just hoping not too many.

New Orleans at STL- The Saints will get an early lead, and the Rams will be passing alot, and Bulger is very prone to INTs.

Dave(8-1)

Peyton Manning vs NE- One way or another, Manning has single handedly cost me at least 3 games this year. We'll see if he will make it 4 this week.

Derrick Mason at Cle- He's been solid all year and given the matchup he'll probably get some good points here.

Wes Welker at Ind- Got an overlap here no surprise Welker is a beast.

Calvin Johnson at Min- Another one fuck lol but I gotta put my best team forward regardless so again hoping for good but not great numbers lol.

Chris Johnson vs Buf- Yea he'll probably kill me here. He's been on fire recently, and Buffalo is no good. He's projected to get 25 which for a RB is insane. Oh well thats what I get for trading him I guess.

Adrian Peterson vs Det- There's a reason this team is 1st. Its stacked and against the Lions...I dont really have much of a chance realistically here.

Vernon Davis vs Chi- Only 3 points thats huge but wont be enough.

Kris Brown Bye- Only kicker on his lineup. guess he figures he doesn't need a kicker to win,and he's probably right.

Atlanta at Car- Big matchup here cause a D will TD will get me 6-10 points and lose him 3-6 points. Lets go D Will!!

Those are my matchups as always u can check my twitter throughout @tayke2 to get updates and check back in on Sunday night for my recap.

NFL Weekly Picks

tayke2 On 10:12 AM

I had another great week last week going 11-2. The two games I missed were Tampa beating Green Bay, which I don’t think anyone picked lol, and Dallas beating Philly. Proud of my toss up picks of Tennessee beating the 49ers and the Bengals beating the Ravens. Ok 21-5 on the year lets see if I can keep it up!

1. Chicago at San Francisco- Both of these teams have looked really good and really bad this season. However, Alex Smith is emerging as a solid QB, and Frank Gore is helping to relieve some of the pressure he would normally be facing. The 49ers win a close one at home 24-20.

2. Buffalo at Tennessee- Can the Titans win out and go 10-6 and make the playoffs! Doubtful, but this should be their 3rd win in a row. The Bills aren't very good and the Titans have looked very impressive in their back to back wins. The Titans move to 3-6 with a 27-14 win.

3. New Orleans at St. Louis- We've had some pretty lopsided games so far this season, and this might be the most lopsided. For my money, this is the best and worst teams in the NFL playing each other. I don't care if the Saints are 21 point favorites. Take the Saints here in a blowout 41-10.

4. Tampa Bay at Miami- Josh Freeman looked like a young Duante Culpepper against the Packers last week. But they will be brought back down to reality by a very solid Dolphins team who is better then their record. Ronnie Brown and Ricky run all over the Bucs in a 31-13 win.

5. Detroit at Minnesota- Another very lopsided matchup, this is another one where I'll say take any spread that Vegas gives you. The Lions will likely benefit from a 100% Calvin Johnson, but the Vikes offense will score early and often. they trounce the Lions 38-14.

6. Jacksonville at New York Jets- Were this in Jacksonville, I would consider it a straight toss up. But the Jets should get a win at home, though for some reason this game smells like an upset to me. Jets squeak one out here 21-20.

7. Cincinnati at Pittsburgh- Got some interesting story lines here. Arguably the most surprising team in the league this year with the Bengals vs the Super Bowl Champs who have been on fire. Gotta go with the Steelers at home here their defense is looking unbeatable now that the freak Troy Polamolu is back. Steelers grind out a 17-13 win here.

8. Denver at Washington- This game will be alot closer then some would think. If this is more then a 10 point spread I would take the Redskins because the Broncos simply aren't built to blow out teams even if they are bad. I think the Skins hang tight here at home but ultimately lose 24-14.

9. Atlanta at Carolina- Ok its no fun unless you pick an upset right? I'll go with the Panthers at home here. The Falcons have looked solid all year, but the Panthers have been playing better football as of late. They beat the Cards and were sticking it to the Saints for a half. This game will come down to Deangelo Williams. IF he can go off, the Panthers win. Carolina in a big upset here 27-24.

10. Kansas City at Oakland- Really? Do they have to play each other? Talk about a boring game here. The question is not which team will win. Its which team will suck less. As usual in tie breakers, I'll go with the home team. The Raiders accidentally win here 14-10.

11. Dallas at Green Bay- Hmm could there be another upset here? I'm going to say yes. Here are the facts. The Packers got flat out embarrassed last week losing to an awful Tampa Bay team. They will come out with something to prove as they need to fight for the playoffs. I think Dallas comes in a tad overconfident and gets surprised this week by the Pack 30-21.

12. Seattle at Arizona- Should be a mismatch, but the Cardinals are known more for winning the games against tough opponents rather then beating the easy opponents. But the Seahawks are very bad and the Cards should handle this one with relative ease 35-17.

13. Philidelphia at San Diego- Wow very well could be the game of the week here. San Diego is flying high after their incredible game winning drive against the Giants, and the Eagles are coming out looking to bounce back from the Cowboys handing them a slice of humble pie. I'm sticking to my guns here. Home teams wins a close one 24-20.

14. New England at Indianapolis- I always find it funny how these two teams manage to play each other every year. And every time they do its a big game. 3 years ago, the Pats would win this easily, but the Colts now know they can beat the Pats. And at home, I think they will. Peyton cements his status as the MVP of the league so far with a thrilling 31-28 win.

15. Baltimore at Cleveland- Talk about a boring Monday Football game. A horrible team vs a team struggling on both sides of the ball. But lets not kid ourselves. the Ravens are clearly superior in all facets of the game and win this one easily 21-6.

Ok those are my thoughts. Think I'm wrong about a couple games? Let me know I'd love to hear from you guys. Thanks.

BCS Top 10 Throwdown

tayke2 On 11:34 AM

USC survived upset Saturday. I thought Oregon would struggle against Stanford, but I definitely didn't think they would lose. I called Iowa losing to Northwestern they just aren't that good at all and should lose to Ohio State in the Horse Shoe this weekend. Ok so here is my look at the top 10 this week.

1. Florida- Florida looked very impressive again against Vanderbilt. Gators can punch their ticket to Atlanta now.

Up next: at South Carolina- Sadly this is the toughest game left on their schedule, and the Gamecocks are very overrated. Florida wins this pretty easily 31-13.

2. Alabama- Bama looked vulnerable until the 4th against LSU where they took it to another level. Bama clinches the West and has Florida on their minds.

Up next: At Mississippi St.- The Bulldogs won't be a pushover and on the road it will be even tougher but the Crimson Tide are far superior and should pull away in the 2nd half. Bama wins 27-14

3. Texas- They struggled in the first half against UCF, but pulled away in the end and they have their bags packed for Los Angeles and the National Title game.

Up Next- At Baylor- Another soft game, Texas will use these as a tune up. An easy win for the longhorns 35-10.

4. TCU- Another win for TCU means they are one step closer to a BCS game. The Horned Frogs have destroyed everyone in the last 4 games, and need this momentum going into this week.

Up Next: vs #16 Utah- The biggest game on their season, if TCU can win they clinch a BCS bowl. Utah is fairly overrated, and TCU is playing better then anyone in the country right now. TCU rolls on 35-17.

5. Cincinnati- The Bearcats need Tony Pike to come back as 2 of their last 3 games are against top 25 teams.

Up next: vs #25 West Virginia- The Mountaineers have looked very good and very bad all year. Which team will show up? I'm not convinced that even if WVU plays their best that they can beat Cincy. The Bearcats win this one 31-20.

6. Boise State- Look at last weeks comments. They aren't losing.

Up next: At Utah State- Boise wins big. Again. Say hello to the Fiesta Bowl Broncos. Boise wins big again 41-14.

7. Georgia Tech- They barellllly squeaked out a win against Wake Forest last week. But the Yellow Jackets have looked good all year, and will have a date in the ACC Championship game.

Up next: at Duke- A nice tuneup before their in state rivalry game against Georgia. Tech wins this one big 31-10.

8. LSU- I really don't like this ranking. Your ranking should really be based on who you beat not who you lose too. LSU's only losses are to the top 2 teams in the nation, but their best win all year was against Georgia. They've beaten bad teams all year, but with the 2 teams per conference rule, LSU will not be playing in a BCS game.

Up next: Louisiana Tech- Really LSU? Really. Tulane and LSU lol. Great schedule Miles. LSU beats another cupcake in unimpressive fashion 24-13.

9. USC- The Trojans looked unimpressive again in a sloppy win over ASU. The good new for USC is with a Penn State loss the Trojans are now in line for an at large bid in the Fiesta bowl with Boise State.

Up next: vs Stanford- Wow. The Cardinal are looking very good and the Trojans are not looking good at all. But, this is Pete Carroll who's undefeated in November at USC. The Trojans will find a way to win this and keep their BCS hopes alive. Trojans win a high scoring affair 38-34.

10. Iowa- How the Hawkeyes are still in the top 10 I have no idea. They got exposed last week and they have a confident Buckeyes team coming up. Iowa will lose here, and then lose in their bowl to finish with 3 losses.

Up next: at #11 Ohio State- Buckeyes win this one and jump the Trojans lol. The polls make no sense. Buckeyes win this one and the Big 10 with a 28-17 win.

Those are my thoughts. Anymore upsets this week? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for reading.

Can't Believe I made it. Congrats To Cada

tayke2 On 8:12 PM

Ok so I managed to survive the weekend without finding out what happened, only to see Ivey go out in 7th, which was lame. I was also pretty bummed about the suck outs determining the winner as opposed to the players. But its all over ,and we have the youngest champion in history for the 2nd straight year. Congrats to Cada he's a sick player but he definitely got alittle lucky! Here's ny recap of all the player's play.

9th- James Akenhead- He really couldn't get anything going with his small chip stack. Too bad too because we could have seen some great plays by him. This definitely won't be the last we see of him he will be around for quite some time.

8th- Tough loss for Schaffel who played well from the limited time we saw of him. Schaffel is also a great player making a WPT final table. Tough luck with the AA vs KK against Buchman, but it was an indicator of things to come.

7th- Phil Ivey- Ugh....you knew he was going home when the crowd started chanting Ivey Ivey! Oh well...the run itself was great for poker, and I love Ivey saying he thinks he'll be back in the next couple years. I would doubt anybody besides this man.

6th- Steven Begleiter- I must say, I was veryyyyy impressed with Begs's play. He made some great moves, some great calls, and got extremely unlucky at the hands of the Ivey Slayer moon. Begs made me a believer. I still don't think we will see much more of him, but it was still mighty impressive.

5th- Jeff Shulman- I knew he would be tight, but I didn't think he would be that tite Having said that, he still made good decisions throughout. The 99 fold against Ivey was a bit skeptical but still a safe and good play And obviously got very unlucky to Cada and the 33. Good showing by Shulman.

4th- Eric Buchman- I'm not sure what to make of Buchman based on what I saw on TV. He literally played about 5 hands it seemed lol. but from what I saw, it was good play as I expected. He'll be back.

3rd-Antonie Saout- Despite the fact that he would have been a terrible champ for poker(he woulda hidden and never appeared in public, not the mention he hardly speaks English), I was pulling for Saout at the end. The Frenchman played PHENOMENAL and definitely deserved to win this. The QQ vs 22 hand was absolutely sick, and if he takes that he takes it down. Great play by Saout.

2nd- Darvin Moon- Wow. I'll give Moon credit for opening up his play, but he made alot of mistakes. ALOTTTTT of mistakes. And alot of plays that really made no sense. The all in preflop with K9 to Cada's aces. The KQ raise to 15 mil and folding. Alot of it was just really weird, and I wasn't happy when he sucked out to win big pots off players that were better then him and played better then him. Having said all that, he seems like a great guy and I'm happy for his incredible story and a big congrats goes out to this cinderella story.

1st- Joe Cada- Very torn about this I liked Cada comin in, I thought he was one of the top 3 players at the table, and had I just seen this result on paper, I would have been happy and not surprised. Butttt, I can't recall a guy dodge so many bullets. Sucking out with 22 and 33, surviving the race against ivey that could have propelled him. But again, having said all that, an incredible feat especially going from 3 mil to the winner. Huge congrats go out to Joe Cada, and my heart goes out to Peter Eastgate, who's great record off 22 years old being the youngest champ lasted all but a year.

Well thats it, the WSOP is over, and the 2nd straight year of a great final table and champ after 2 so so ones before What were your thoughts? Did you think someone else would win? What kind of Champ will Cada be? Let me know guys! Thanks for reading.

The Grand Daddy of them all...for Poker

tayke2 On 11:20 AM

Its almost here. The 2009 World Series of Poker wraps up this weekend. The final 9 will reunite on Saturday and play down to two players. Those two will come back Monday night to play heads up to decide the champ. The final table will be aired on Tuesday. My friend Platt and I made a bet before the main event started in June. We each picked 5 players for a last longer bet, with added bonuses for top 100, final table, and winner. One of my picks was none other then Mr. Ivey. If he can take this down, then I win 450 bucks from Platt. THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT. I will be doing everything in my power to not find out about the results until Tuesday. I ask that everyone who reads this to please not tell me anything about the results. I will literally be having my gf screen my texts, emails, etc. It will seriously be one of the toughest things I’ve done in a while. So wish me luck lol. Without further ado, my predictions for the Final table.

The chips counts are as follows.

1. Darvin Moon – 58,930,000
2. Eric Buchman – 34,800,000
3. Steven Begleiter – 29,885,000
4. Jeff Shulman – 19,580,000
5. Joe Cada – 13,215,000
6. Kevin Schaffel – 12,390,000
7. Phil Ivey – 9,765,000
8. Antoine Saout – 9,500,000
9. James Akenhead – 6,800,000

Based on what I've seen from these players on ESPN and what they've done since July, I must say that I feel like the bottom 6 stacks are the best players. both Saout and Akenhead final tabled the WSOP Europe main event. Schaffel has final tabled a WPT big event. Cada is an online beast, Schulman is a very solid pro, and Ivey is well....Ivey. So here is how I see the results breaking down.

9. Antonie Saout- I feel like Akenhead is a better player, and will likely get an early double up.

8. Steve Begleiter- This is not a typo. I think Begleiter will have a huge fall. The main reason I say that is because I think he will be most prone to make a big mistake, like getting committed to AQ preflop or calling off with 1010 on a 8 high board against a set or higher pair. He's very inexperienced, and I see him taking an early shot at Ivey and doubling him up. Begs out in 8th.

7. James Akenhead- Begleiter said that he was the best player he ever played against, even with a guy named Phil Ivey at the table. This kid will be a stud for a long time, but he has too few chips to make a good run at this. He will jump a couple spots I think, but will go out in the bottom half of the elimination.

6.Kevin Schaffel- He seems like a very solid player, but I'm not sure he'll be able to pull the necessary triggers if the cards don't go his way. I could be way wrong here I honestly feel like virtually everyone at this table has a shot thats how solid I think it is.

5. Darvin Moon- The massive chip leader, I think Darvin moon will slip to 5th here for several reasons. While Moon has mixed up his play well, he's mostly been a card rack, collecting alot of his chips by giving coolers. He did pull one bluff with J9, but I'm not convinced he can be a "great poker player" if the cards don't go his way. Also, I think the massive money jumps will make him sit on his hands alot, and I think he will slowly slip to 5th.

4. Jeff Shulman- What I can guarantee you if nothing else is that Shulman will not make any mistakes at this table. I haven't seen him make a bad decision all tournament long. He will knock out a player, double up a player, and snag 4th with very solid play.

3. Joe Cada- Taking a bit of a gamble on the youngster. Like Shulman, I haven't seen a bad play out of him all tournament. I feel like he will be one of the most aggressive players, and pick off alot of blinds of people who are sitting on their hands. Most importantly, he proved that he's not afraid to tangle with Ivey, a task I think some of these players couldn't do.

2. Eric Buchman- In my opinion, he is easily the best player of those in the top 3. This is why I have him in this spot, as I feel like he has been around the block before and will use his chips to their fullest potential. But I think he will lose to the man...the myth...the legend.

1. Phil Ivey - Is there even a doubt as to who I'd pick. Ivey is the best player in the world. Period. The best news for him is that he has chips to work with even at 7th place. He will pounce on the amateurs who are waiting on the money jumps. If he can get an early double up, Ivey takes this one.

For those of you asking...can Ivey REALLLY win this? Just look at 2007. If Jerry Yang can go from 8th to 1st...anything is possible. With Ivey..I like my chances. What do you guys think? Does Ivey really have a shot? Who is your sleeper? I'd love to hear back from you guys. Thanks for reading.

NFL Weekly Picks

tayke2 On 7:00 PM

Ok so last week in my 1st week I had a great record of 10-3. If I can go 8-5 all year per week I'd be happy lol. Ok so here we go for my 2nd week hope my input can help anyone out who is unsure about a couple games.

1. Washington at Atlanta- A mismatch here. The Redskins aren't that good and the Falcons kept up with the Saints for the entire game. Falcons win this one easily 31-14

2. Arizona at Chicago- I actually see this one as a toss up. The Cards can look really good....and they can look reallly bad. The same with the Bears. I'm going to go with the Cards as they are the more talented team, but we could see an upset here. Cards win 27-21

3. Baltimore at Cincinnati- This will be a really good game. Both of these teams are very talented, and the Ravens are flying high after knocking off the Broncos last week. Often in these close games, it is the home field that decides it. With Cincy at home, I say they win this one 24-17

4. Houston at Indianapolis- This one looks to be a classic shootout with two of the best offenses in the league. I'm going to go with the Colts for 2 reasons. They are at home, and their defense is a bit better. Colts win 31-27

5. Miami at New England- The Dolphins are a pretty good team considering their record. Most importantly, they proved last week that they can win even with their Offense getting shut down. The Pats, however, are very talented and rested after their bye. They win a surprising close one here 27-21.

6. Green Bay at Tampa Bay- The Bay rivalry is relived here, but sadly it won't be much of a rivalry game. The Bucs are downright awful and the Packers are a playoff team. The Pack win big 34-13.

7. Kansas City at Jacksonville- The Chiefs aren't much better then the Bucs, and while the Jags lost to the winless Titans last week, Tennessee is much better then KC. Jags win here with another big day for Jones Drew 31-17.

8. Carolina at New Orleans- The Panthers looked great last week after their awful game against Buffalo. But the Saints are in a league of their own(and the colts lol), and at home, no chance of an upset here. Saints win 38-17.

9. Detroit at Seattle- If the Lions can't beat the Rams, idk who they can be. Certainly not the Seahawks, who despite having a bad record, have a pretty solid offense. Hawks win here 28-14.

10. Tennessee at San Francisco- The 49ers hung with the Colts to the end last week, looking impressive in doing so. The Titans also looked impressive in their 1st win over the Jags. So who wins? I'm going with the Titans here. I think they have new life with Vince Young, and they are playing to save Jeff Fishers job. Titans win on the road 27-21.

11. San Diego at NY Giants- These are two fairly underachieving teams this year. The Giants have a good record, but against poor teams, and they have look downright awful the past few weeks. Their main weakness is a good offense, and the Chargers have just that. Chargers get a big road win 31-24.

12. Dallas at Philadelphia- Its tough for me to predict this one without knowing whether for sure Westbrook is playing. He has killed the Cowboys in recent years. Another example of home field could decide, I'm going with Philly here 31-27.

13. Pittsburgh at Denver- Denver got beat last week in ugly fashion. I'm very curious to see how they bounce back. After struggling earlier this year, the Steelers have looked like the super bowl champs in recent weeks. I think Pitt continues to ride their hot streak, and take this one 21-17.

Ok those are my picks. What do you guys think? I'd love to get more input the comments have been great but more is better. Thanks for reading guys.

Can USC make a BCS Bowl?

The short answer is: yes. The long answer is yes...but we need alot to go our way. Lets take a look at the 11 teams ahead of us.

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. Iowa
5. Cincinnati
6. TCU
7. Boise State
8. Oregon
9. LSU
10. Georgia Tech
11. Penn State.

Ok lets break down the BCS bowls. Teams that will get automatic bids assuming everything holds course.
1. Florida/3. Alabama- One goes to the National Championship the other to the Sugar Bowl assuming both win out.

2. Texas goes to the National Title if they win out. 4. Iowa goes to the Rose bowl if they win out.
5. Cincy goes to the Orange Bowl if they win out. 8. Oregon goes to Rose Bowl if they win out.
9. LSU goes to Sugar Bowl/NC if they beat Bama this week/Florida in SEC title game...we will rule them out because they will lose to Bama and only 2 BCS spots for SEC.
10. Georgia Tech goes to Orange Bowl if they win out.

Ok so that means if things hold course, which they probably won't lol we will have...
Florida-Texas for the National Title
Oregon-Iowa in Rose Bowl
Ga Tech-Cincy in Orange Bowl
Bama vs at large in Sugar Bowl
At large vs At large in fiesta bowl

3 spots available for 3 teams. The number of teams ahead of USC right now...3. TCU, Boise St., and Penn State.

Boise plays no good teams and will win out. They go to the Fiesta Bowl. TCU has only Utah left..they win out, they go to the Sugar Bowl to play Bama.

That leaves Penn st. to take the last spot, play Boise in the Fiesta bowl, and USC is on the outside looking. So what needs to change.

This weeks Ohio State Penn State game could decide it for us. Ohio state needs to win. Period Bottom line. IF that happens, USC jumps Penn state into the Fiesta bowl, and USC wins out and they get in.

HOWEVER...its not that simple. If Ohio State wins, then the big game becomes Iowa Ohio state. The worst case scenerio for USC fans is Ohio State winning out. You mite ask why considering that will help our SOS because we beat them. Here is why.

Ohio State is currently #16. We are #12. If Ohio state beats #11 Penn State, they jump to....13 we'll say, we jump to 11. If Ohio State beats #4 Iowa the following week, two bad things happen. Ohio State will jump USC despite losing to them to #8ish while Iowa will fall. How far is the question though. They will likely fall to #10 or so in the human polls, but what about the computers who love them. Will Iowa fall below us if they lose to a 13th ranked Ohio State team. Maybe so maybe not....the computers will decide.

So what does this all mean. It comes down to Penn State this week. If they beat Ohio State they will stay ahead of us and take the last bid. This is worst case scenario. Even if Ohio state is able to beat Iowa after losing to Penn state, Iowa will still go to the Rose Bowl over Penn State EVEN IF they are ranked below them, due to their head to head win.

Long story short, USC needs a Penn state loss...and/or TCU to lose to Utah. If these occur, and USC wins out, the Trojans will take on Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Unless, Notre Dame makes top 12...but that's for another day. Fuck the Irish. Thanks for Reading.

What did I do god?

Lol for the 4th time this season, I lost by less then 3 points. This time, it was a 1.68 point loss to Steve's team who was down 2 wide outs, which makes it more lame lol. Got 15 points from the Saints D but still couldn't get it. Roddy White got nearly all of his points on one big play, and I couldn't catch up. This one realllly hurt as it puts me at 3-5 instead of 4-4 in a very tite league. In Family league,I am last place at 2-6 but not all is lost, as my aunt is 2-6, and my cousin and grandpa are 2-5-1. So I need a couple wins next week lets see what i can do. Later this week, keep an eye on my NFL picks and after Tuesday, I will post my predictions for the WSOP Main event! If Phil Ivey wins...I take down 450 bucks from Mr Plattman!

BCS Top 10 Throwdown

tayke2 On 2:23 PM

Its Monday and that means its time to take a look at the top 10 for the BCS this week.

1. Florida- Looked very impressive against an ok but overrated Georgia team. The Gators can basically book their flight to Atlanta for the SEC Championship. Also, Urban Meyer showed his true colors again by given star linebacker Brandon Spikes the crippling 1 half suspension for his terrible eye gauging incident. I would say I hope the NCAA steps in and punishes him properly, but we all know they won't.

Up next: vs. Vanderbilt- Another easy matchup in the SEC here as Vandy destroys another bottom feeder 42-17.

2. Texas- Like Florida, Texas looked impressive against a good but overrated team in Oklahoma state. The rest of their schedule is so weak that they have no reason to not win their remaining games. If Texas wins out they will play the SEC champ for the title, and the only people happier about that then Texans are the runners of the BCS who will breathe easily if this follows through, despite the realistic possibility of 6 undefeated teams in the final top 10.

Up next: UCF- Another example of high power teams having cupcakes on their schedules. Texas's toughest non conference opponent is UTEP. That’s ridiculous, but to their credit, they did schedule Ohio State two years ago. So its not like Florida or the rest of the SEC(minus Bama) who have no balls and schedule 0 non conference games against top 100 teams lol. Texas dominates 48-10

3.Alabama- Was idle last week and must love the extra week of preparation for LSU this week. For my money, Bama is the 2nd best team in the nation, but no chance of an all SEC national title game, especially with all the undefeateds out there.

Up next: LSU- This won't be a close game. On the scoreboard, it might end up being JUST a 10 or 14 points difference, but this D will shut down LSU's offense all day. If LSU scores more the 14 points, I will be utterly shocked and will apologize to any LSU fans out there lol. Bama wins 24-6.

4. Iowa- Once again snagging victory from the jaws of defeat, Iowa needed 3 huge plays to get by a poor Indiana team. Iowa is plain and simply not that good, and if they can win out and play in the Rose Bowl, Oregon will crush them after the way they looked against USC.

Up next: vs Northwestern: This game has classic trap game written all over it. An Iowa team that has surprised everyone including themselves by going undefeated so far and getting ranked 4th. The game of their season and what many players ill be the game of their lives coming up.....in two weeks against Ohio St. And the only thing in their way is little old Northwestern, a team that hung with Penn state for 3qtrs. If this game was in Northwestern, I would be alot more comfortable saying this, but I'm still going to say it. Northwestern catches Iowa looking ahead, and beats them 21-17.

5. Cincinnati- Perhaps what is most impressive about Cincy this year is their stellar play without star QB Tony Pike the past couple weeks. They looked good once against last week, and are just 4 games away from an undefeated season and a Sugar bowl bid.

Up next: Uconn- You have to feel for the Huskies. In back to back weeks, it looked like they would pull close upsets to honor their fallen teammate Jesper Howard. But they lost in the last 2 minutes twice. Sadly, this game won't be that close. Cincy is the class of the Big east. Bearcats roll 35-14

6. TCU- Another great win shutting out UNLV, but Boise gained ground on them due to Oregon's stellar win. However, they are still ahead of Boise, and deservedly so. This is the best non bcs school in college football right now

Up next: @San Diego State- This could very well turn into a similar trap game as Iowa, as TCU has #14 Utah in two weeks. But unlike Iowa, TCU will be far superior then their opponents. TCU rolls 31-13

7. Boise state- Should we even bother following them on the scoreboard anymore? Their conference is pathetic and they will destroy everyone left by 21 points at least. And for anyone who thinks Oregon should be ahead of Boise, Boise beat them fair and square regardless of when it was and how the teams played. Head to head will trump paper stats like SOS any day.

Up next: @Lousiana Tech. Boise dominates. Plain and simple. 42-7

8. Oregon- Looked mighty impressive and far superior to USC on Saturday. Oregon should win out and represent the Pac-10 well in the Rose Bowl. And in a year where no one is stepping up, is it possible that Jeremiah Masoli might be able to steal the Heisman with a strong finish and a Pac-10 title?

Up next: at Stanford- The Ducks have to be careful to not fall into a let down game here as they celebrate all week after the big win. While everyone is expecting a blow out, I think Stanford brings their best game and keeps this surprisingly close. Ducks win by a touchdown 31-24

9. LSU- The Tigers got a nice scrimmage in with Tulane before Alabama this week. Way to give your guys a good test before Bama Mr. Miles.

Up next: @ Alabama- No reason to beat a dead horse here. Bama dominates here as they are the far superior team. If LSU can get close or even somehow win, I will accept all flack from my high school friends lol. Bama dominates 24-6

10. Georgia Tech- The team no one is talking about, Georgia Tech has looked like one of the best teams in the country after losing to Miami in week 3.Their win over Va Tech looks less impressive after UNC beat them last Thursday, but Ga Tech is still in the drivers seat for the ACC title and an Orange Bowl bid.

Up next: Wake Forest- Tech shouldn’t have any problem in the next two weeks, until Georgia. But even if they get upset there, they will still be the top team in the ACC. Tech handles Wake 31-14.

Those are my thoughts. What do you guys think? Can LSU prove me wrong and make me look like a fool? Am I crazy to think Northwestern can win. Comment with your thoughts. Thanks for reading guys.

The Best time in Sports

tayke2 On 10:22 AM

This is my favorite time on the sports calender. It means that the NFL is making its push to the playoffs, College Football is making its push towards a BCS catastrophe, Baseball is FINALLLLLLLLLY ending, and Basketball is just starting. Speaking about the last fact there, I just drafted a fantasy basketball team with my ATVN freinds. I definetely know more and care more about football, but Basketball isn't too far behind for me. So here is the team I drafted yesterday.

PG Dwyane Wade (Mia - PG,SG- My top pick, D Wade does it all. He'll be top 5 for guards in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks. Just hope he can stay healthy.

SG Allen Iverson (Mem - PG,SG)- With my last pick, I decided to go with a washed up veteran lol. I had to choose between AI and T-mac. I decided that AI would be healthier, and maybe would want to prove something and lead this team in scoring. We'll see.

G Michael Redd (Mil - SG,SF)- Has always been underrated, his stock dropped alot this year after getting hurt last year. However, he's still the 2nd best 3 pointer shooter in the game(behind Ray Allen) and will give me solid points every night.

SF Marvin Williams (Atl - SF,PF)-A young talent that seems to get better every year, I'm hoping this is the year Williams breaks out into becoming a potential all star. Him teaming up with Josh Smith and Joe Johnson makes the Hawks one of the most under the radar teams in the East.

PF Kevin Garnett (Bos - PF)- Garnett is getting a bit older but he's still a double double machine. For those of you that don't know, a double double is when you get 10 or more of two stat categories. In Garnetts case, it will be points and rebounds. I'm taking a minor gamble based on his knee injury, but he will be the deciding factor in some weeks in the boards and blocks catagory.

F David West (NO - PF)- West has alwys been underrated in my opinion. He gets overlooked because of all the great big men in the west and because of this guy named Chris Paul. But like Garnett, he is a double double machine, and I'm loving this 1-2 combo at forward.

C Elton Brand (Phi - PF,C)- Another injury risk, I thought Brand had solid value as my 5th round pick. If he can stay healthy, he, like Garnett and West, will be a double doulbe machine. Lol seeing a theme here.

C Chris Kaman (LAC - C)- After just a week, Kaman is actually the 2nd ranked player in Fantasy bashetball. Probably won't keep it up, but defintely worth a risk in the 9th round.

Util Mo Williams (Cle - PG)- Was an all star last week, and should see alot of kick outs from Lebron on double and triple teams.

Util Eric Gordon (LAC - SG) -A very young and very talented guard, I'm hoping Gordon will be able to step out in LA and be a consitent starter for the Clips. His assists are sure to go up when Blake Griffin is healthy again.

BN Joe Johnson (Atl - PG,SG,SF)- Johnson is a beast who is only on my bench cause he isn't playing tonite but rest assured he will be one of my top 4 players.

BN Thaddeus Young (Phi - SF,PF)- Came out too soon from Georgia Tech but this kid is a star in the making. Should see more production year after year for years to come.

BN Shaquille O'Neal (Cle - C)- The Big Diesel the big aristotle whatever you call him lol. Shaq is old, and will only be good for a line of 12 points 6 boards each nite. However, his FG percentage should stay at a solid 60%, which could be the difference week after week.

Ok so there is my team. I'll post my week by week results as they come. If you are a big fan of baskeball, my boy Jeremy Hall has a great Fantasy Basketball blog. He knows more then I do lol. My BCS recap is coming up later today. Thanks for reading guys.

Sunday Recap: Picks went great. Fantasy Football.....

tayke2 On 4:11 PM

Not so much. So yeah as expected I really didn't compete too much in my Family league. Bulger had a mediocre 10 points and Ronnie brown got me just 2.5 points. Meanwhile, Favre dropped 38 points and Jones Drew got 30. I had the #2 pick in the draft, and took Brian Westbrook. My 2nd choice was Jones Drew. One of the biggest blunders I've ever had in Fantasy football. MY team really isn't all that great, but maybe Brady and Welker can carry me into the 8th spot for the playoffs.

For ATVN, Matt Schaub really killed me. Texas get 31 points and Schaub is responsible for 0. A pathetic 12 points for his standards really hurt. The rest of my team played decent, and luckily Steve forgot to take two players with byes out. However, I'm only up 3 points right now, with the Saints defense for me and Roddy White for Steve. Not the best scenario considering how dominant White has been recently, but who knows maybe I'll get a lucky break on a close matchup.

In my first installment of my weekly picks, I had a great week, going 9-3. All of my upset picks came through, as I picked the Dolphins, the Ravens who knocked off the unbeaten Broncs, and the Titans getting on the win board dominating the Jags. I missed on the Giants who looked just plain bad against the Eagles, the Lions losing to the Rams in what would be the exact opposite of the Super Bowl, and the Cardinals pulling a 180 from their win last week by losing to the hopeless Panthers.

I got the Saints tomorrow we'll c if they can join the Colts as the only undefeated teams left. Hope the Defense can pick a couple of balls off just need them to outscore Roddy White. Not likely, but bigger miracles have happened. Also, drafting a basketball team today. I'll post it along with my BCS recap tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for reading guys. A
